I’m driving a forklift and a tractor but the product is very white-collar. She describes it as a winemaker’s version of triage, pivoting around the whims of nature to ensure the fruit completes its journey to the bottle.Īnd despite wine’s highfalutin reputation, the behind-the-scenes isn’t glamorous. A key part of her job is procuring the fruit before inclement weather hits, and navigating when it does. She talks about the monsoons and dealing with unpredictable weather. It’s why Ide is speaking from Elgin, about three hours south of her north Scottsdale home. It’s when the picking, processing, bottling, and shipping for the latest vintages happens. Late summer to early fall is the peak season for winemakers. I just do my best to usher it through,” she says. Lonestar forklift manual#For two or three months of the year, she is mostly a one-woman-show handling duties ranging from punch downs and monitoring fermentation to hauling two tons of grapes and pressing them in her 1970s-era manual presser. Ide purchases fruit from vineyards in the Sonoita-Elgin and Willcox areas, where the vast majority of Arizona grape varieties are grown. “I like going to everyone, asking how their family is, what’s going on with them," she says. There are three distributors vying for her business, but she’s not sure. Ide delivers cases to establishments herself, skipping the middleman. “These little shops and small businesses are my bread and butter,” she says. Vino Stache has made its way from wine festivals into wine stores including ODV Wines, Arcadia Premium, Genuwine, and Far Away Wine & Provisions, along with independent restaurants such as Southern Rail, Beckett’s Table, and FnB. Over the last three years, the Phoenician-turned-Southern Arizona winemaker has quietly grown her small business. Lonestar forklift professional#She started her career as a professional volleyball player, before turning to the corporate world. But for my micro-boutique winery, my feet are all I need,” Ide says.īut Ide hasn't always been stomping grapes. “I am sure there are machines for large commercial wineries. This is a serious part of how the winemaker and winery owner has done business since opening her Elgin-based operation in 2019.įoot stomping, Ide explains, is an easy way to extract enough juice to start fermentation for a whole cluster-style wine, which her bottled Graciano will be. While comical, it's not merely for laughs. “You sanitize your feet and get right in there,” Ide says enthusiastically from Vino Stache Winery in southern Arizona. “The main reason why I kept the company going this long was because it provided jobs for a lot of people,” Magarin said.Thirty seconds before answering the phone, Brooke Lowry Ide was standing in a huge fermenting bin foot stomping grapes. Interest rates are going up, the price of parts has tripled and the cost of new equipment is outrageous.”Īccording to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s SAFER data, Lone Star Dedicated has 102 power units and 86 drivers. The company is still profitable but the margins are getting thinner and thinner. “I don’t like what’s coming down the pike. “At this point, I am just getting rid of a headache,” Magarin told FreightWaves. Lonestar forklift drivers#Lone Star Dedicated once had more than 150 drivers and hauled oil field equipment, but Magarin said he was forced to downsize and pivot to pulling reefers because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The company’s nearly 90 drivers were notified Friday that the carrier would be closing its doors after 12 years in business. David Magarin, president and owner of Lone Star Dedicated, confirmed Monday that he’s shutting down the trucking company, which hauls refrigerated food nationwide, this month.

Sometimes, sliders are also used to attach keycaps to stabilizer bars embedded inside a keyboard. The sliders are locked into discrete switch components in most mechanical keyboard switches, while the sliders are at the bottom of the keycaps in most rubber dome switches.įor stabilizing a key, a key may have one or more secondary sliders, often as a compliment or a cheaper alternative to a stabilizer bar. It is possible to integrate a slider into the lower part of a keycap or place a keycap on the top position. However, it is more convenient to use the ‘key stem’ to refer to the shaft atop the slider on which the keycap is held (something that many sliders do not have).Ī slider is used in most keyboard switch mechanisms. Stem (especially in Cherry terminology) is another common word for a plunger. A plunging-shaft, which is cylindrical, is also called a barrel. Sliders are controlled by guide rails or the walls of a tight-fitting shaft. In keyboard terms, a slider is a plunger that slides down when the key is pressed, and likewise, when the key is released in the other direction, not all plungers are sliders. The switch’s stem is outside the switch housing, which binds the switch to the keycap. The leaf spring, a slider, and spring, all three of them are seated inside the switch housing. The switch housing is the aspect of the switch that assists with precision guidance. The most popular are Cherry MX-compatible stems, with a cross-shaped stem. Between the upper housing and the contact part, the stem is held. It produces the feel of the keystroke and establishes the kind of switch. The shape of the branch differs from the switch’s actuation and travel distance. The type of stem determines the kind of keycaps to be used on the keyboard. Stem.Ī plastic component that directly links the switch to the keycap. Some keyboards require additional keys or smaller keys than a standard layout. By checking your keyboard layout and knowing the size of special keys such as space, shift, backspace, enter, and the bottom row keys such as Ctrl, Alt, Win, and Fn, you can check whether a keycap set would match your mechanical keyboard. The keycap is not a mechanical switch component, but it is slightly responsible for noise produced when the key is bottomed out. This article will tell you what you need to know and help in making a better decision. We’re going to help you escape through this. However, there’s no easy answer to the best switches in general, because it depends on your tastes. You might release the key immediately after you receive your feedback. The most significant advantage of clicky switches is that you don’t have to press the key down. When hitting the actuation point, high-performance clicky switches provide an additional click signal. You should plan your arrival at the Leknes airport on a flight coming from Bodo at 11:35.There are good flight connections from Oslo via Bodø with SAS or Wideroe. You travel individually to Leknes/ Lofoten Islands, Norway. However, it is recommended to fly to Oslo, Norway, on January 31 and spend the night at Radisson Blu Airport Hotel, Oslo Gardermoen, then fly to Leknes on February 1st. Depending on your flight schedule from home it may be possible to fly to Leknes in one day.And of course at night, if the skies are clear and the weather forecasts good, we will hunt for the dazzling Northern Lights. In order to make the best out of each day, the schedule of the tour will be constantly adapted to these conditions. The nature of the Lofoten requires flexibility, as the weather conditions change fast. We also will be able to split the group in two on some occasions, if the location preferences of the participants differ. Due to the small size of the group, you have the opportunity to discuss with us photographic topics of your personal choice and immediately put them into practice. We will have two experienced guides on this trip and the number of participants will be limited to 10. ☛ FEATURE: SMALL GROUP / TWO EXPERIENCED GUIDES. Nights are long and there is usually enough time not only for Aurora hunt but also for a good sleep. It’s a good mix of short days and long nights, providing enough time to get to separate locations for sunrise and sunset and a few other things at midday. The days will grow an hour longer during our workshop, though the sun still remains quite low on the horizon until the middle of February. Fman pictures full#Under a full moon, the Aurora could be just a bit fainter, but the foreground will be floodlit and the artistic value of your photographs will be significantly higher. You can shoot the Northern Lights in complete darkness, but any foreground in your shot will likely be rendered as "tints of black" and mountains will look like dark silhouettes. All nights during our trip will be well illuminated. We will have a full moon on February 5th - just in the middle of our adventure. None of this is guaranteed but is highly likely this time of year and we’ll do our best to put the group in the perfect position for an Aurora photo shoot at each location. However, for a truly magical experience, we will want clear skies, cool temperatures, and significant solar flare activity coming off the sun. We will be so far North, that even low aurora activity is often visible given the right conditions. The Lofoten Islands are one of the best places in the world to witness and photograph the Northern Lights. 22:00 and 23:00.Įarn yourself an incredible portfolio showcasing the very best in landscape photography when you join this photo tour of the Lofoten Islands, the jewel in Norway’s scenic crown! The best chances in February are between approx. The polar lights can appear at any time, but most likely between 20:00 and 01:00. We will continuously follow the weather forecasts and in good weather conditions we will look out for the dazzling lights. In order to be able to photograph the Northern Lights, the sky needs to be clear. The winter, especially January and February, is the best time to see Aurora Borealis. It is these ragged mountains, rising dramatically from the sea, that rank high among our photography targets. Yet the islands' "younger" sharp-peaked "alpine" mountains are high enough that geologists believe they were not covered with ice during the glaciated periods of the Pleistocene-its last ice age ending between 10,000 and 14,000 years ago. These so-called "primeval rocks" are the remnants of a once enormous 3-billion-year-old plateau. Much of Lofoten is comprised of some of the oldest rock formations known. Located well above the Arctic Circle at 68°N, these high-latitude islands bathed in February in magic soft Arctic twilight are considered to be the most beautiful setting in Norway. Picturesque fishing villages, deep fjords surrounded by charismatic rugged mountains, amazing scenic beaches, and strings of bridges holding all this beauty together combine to form awe-inspiring, photogenic scenery. Since Toady has talked extensively about the possibilities of tutorialization I wondered, and asked explicitly in my question, whether that tutorialization would include directing people to that file through the game. #Mouseless games steam how to#It is indeed tutorialized in the Dwarf raws, which has been a big help for me in learning how to add of remove aspects of sexual dimorphism from modded creatures. Thanks everyone for acknowledging the part of my comment about how it is not difficult to mod in universal beards. Unless and until Tarn and Zach start making changes to the stock setting, bearded female dwarves are a mod, of which there are certain to be dozens if not hundreds on the Steam Workshop for players to choose from. Converting it into a cultural misunderstanding was an amusing solution. Lewis' (ultimately villainous) dwarves had sprung up from the stone fully formed, all male and bearded, which given some are described as the descendants of others, seemed a bit off to Tolkien. Incidentally, even Tolkien probably meant this as a joke, it seems. One throwaway line in a film with no examples a cultural phenomenon does not make. I think new players are unlikely to have any sort of universal expectations one way or another, really. Dwarf Fortress does not take place in the Third Age of Middle Earth, or the Forgotten Realms of D&D, (and female dwarves in D&D don't have beards anymore either anyway.) Female dwarves are beardless, elves are vicious, insulting cannibals, and so on. I'm not sure making this an init setting would make sense. It was later corrected on the rear of later release figure cardbacks showing Geeper Creeper in figure assortments. The character's name was misprinted on the Australian Machine Men card when the figure was first re-issued with the Gobots name as, 'Greeper Creeper'. Geeper Creeper was one of these figures with the card rear showing, 'Jeep / Geeper Creeper'. They appear only on the rear as part of the character assortment picture listing along with the original Robo Machine name. * during the initial Robo Machine migration to Gobots character names a small selection of figures do not show the Gobots names on the front of the blister only. Tonka's US rebranded 'Gobots' distribution saw Geeper Creeper given his now most established name with the Robo Machine* and Machine Men lines adopting Gobots character names on figure re-release predominantly to benefit from the Challenge of the Gobots cartoon. #GOBOT JEEPER CREEPER SERIES#They’re added to bring some human element, but all they do is bring the show to a new level of inhuman torture.Originally designed in Japan by Bandai and released for their Machine Robo Series line as Jeep Robo the model was not long after issued as Jeep for the European Robo Machine release and Jeep Man as part of Australia's Machine Men. To make matters worse the Guardians befriend a couple of very annoying teenage humans. The characters (as well as the toys) had no identifying insignias or markings like the Transformers for example to indicate their allegiance, although it was clearly indicated on the packaging of the toys. There's no clear visual distinction between the two factions. Cy-Kill, Fitor, Cop-Tur and Crasher), who were in almost every episode, with other characters occasionally making appearances. The series generally focused on a small number of robots from each faction (Leader-1, Turbo, Small Foot and Scooter vs. The GoBots' origin as organic beings accounted for the presence of genders among the robots. The female robots on the series, such as Crasher, were built like the males, but with some distinguishing female features. The characters rarely had guns, instead shooting energy blasts out of their fists. The Guardians were led by Leader-1 while the Renegades were led by Cy-Kill. The Challenge of the GoBots dealt with two opposing forces of transforming robots from the planet GoBotron: the heroic Guardians and the evil Renegades. If you do watch the Gobots, be warned for some stupidness beyond stupid. Just skip it and watch a proper cartoon show about transforming robots like the Transformers or Robotech. #GOBOT JEEPER CREEPER TV#The Challenge of the Gobots was one of the stupidest cartoon shows on TV in the 80’s. Seriously? A fucking scooter! Which kid would prefer a stupid scooter over a sports car!Īnimationwise the Gobots are from Hanna-Barbera, so production value is very low. The Gobots on the other hand turn into the lamest vehicles possible, like a scooter. The Transformers turned into cool stuff like race cars, trucks, fighter jets, tanks, guns, etc. Because the villain always has an unshaven face, you know. There’s nothing scary or menacing about him, except for his 5 o’clock shadow. If you’re going to portray a good guy, don’t give him yellow teeth! Cy-kill, the leader of the evil Renegades, looks like he’s got anorexia. Leader 1 looks like a slim Homer Simpsons with yellow teeth. If you have a robot in a show it should look high tech, not like low tech garbage. It’s all clunky and without any streamlining. It feels as if the designers had a contest who could come up with the lamest design, and some studio head honcho accidentally approved those designs. There’s nothing cool about the design of the Gobots in robot mode. This cartoon is just too stupid to have anything nice to say about it. Sure, they’re robots and they can transform, but even those things look stupid in the Gobots. The Gobots are just plain stupid - and gay. Watching the Gobots one can understand why. Hanna-Barbera is mostly known for comedic cartoons like the Flintstones and less for their action oriented cartoons. The Gobots are Hanna-Barbera’s lame version of transforming robots. The Challenge of the Gobots is a cartoon series about the world’s gayest robots. |
